description

Peninsula situated at the northern end of the Costa Brava which extends across the municipal districts of Cadaqués, El Port de la Selva, La Selva de Mar, LLançà, Palau-saverdera, Pau, Roses and Vilajüiga.

We will walk over rocks that are more than 450 million years old and that the tamuntana wind has eroded into a capricious shoreline of spectacular beauty. Over 300 species of fish, inland areas of grassland and brushwood, and the chance to observe migratory birds are options offered to the visitor by the first marine-terrestrial park of Catalonia.

We recommend starting by taking the road from Vilajuïga to the Monastery of Sant Pere de Rodes, which includes the Information Office of the Natural Park.

Because of the distances, if you want to do the whole route we recommend going by car and setting aside a whole day; if you prefer to see just a part of it, we recommend walking or cycling certain sections, such as the GR-II hiking track from Sant Pere de Rodes to Cap de Creus or the GR-92 which leads from the monastery itself to the south of the Costa Brava via Cadaqués and Roses.
